I’m making steady progress at Shirley Ryan ability lab downtown with my physical and occupational therapy. It’s an intense schedule sometimes four or five hours a day. The therapist really push you to your limit and thus I achieve more and reach my goals set here to increase my mobility. This is all very encouraging! My right leg still has spasms but we’re managing them with muscle relaxers and steroids, and every day I can last a little longer on the leg without it getting stiff and giving out which is a good thing. I’m able to go about 300 feet in a walker and then the leg just opens up to the point where I have to sit down. In a harness and a treadmill I did a half a mile by the end.
We moved our dining room table out of the dining room and I’m setting up my art supplies there plus a little twin size bed so until we get the stair chair lift on the inside if I can’t make it up the 14 stairs to second floor I can crash in the dining room. This reminds me of Frida Kalo and how she created artwork while she was immobile… I’m very inspired by her work and I plan to make a really creepy day of the dead style oftenda installation with sound with my radiation mask inspired by Frida!
