Discharging March 4

Discharging I will be discharged from Shirley Ryan tomorrow Friday, March 4. My time here was more frustrating than times I’ve spent here before because I have such less ability. I wanted to get right in the treadmill in the harness and start walking but my left leg just flopped behind me it took a lot longer just to get some basic strength back to stand in pivot. I have a new ankle foot orthotics which are helping with stability but My brain still won’t speak to my left leg and my right leg still has spasms.

even though my mobility is still very very limited my oncologist wants me to start this new Avistan infusion treatment as soon as possible so I cannot be an inpatient at Shirley Ryan and start the treatment that I must get home. I will be getting some in-home care and we are going to be adjusting our home a bit for more handicap accessibility. Thanks to all our generous friends and family we did raise enough go fund me money and we are getting theInterior stair chair lifts soon, and the exterior chairs lifts have been been installed. Which is good because I’m gonna need them to get into the house tomorrow! I’m excited to get home and back to the family and the art supplies and weed wine good coffee, Maybe I’ll create a page of all my pictures of the disgusting hospital food I’ve faced in the last few months.

From home I can also be an outpatient at the Shirley Ryan in Bear Ridge and I’m going to start physical therapy three days a week three hours per day on March 9 every Monday Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM till 11:30 AM. I’ll do a doodle again for rides if anybody wants to drive me :) Plans and schedules can change quickly around here though so I was gonna wait till everything’s really finalized to actually create a doodle sign-up form for rides.

The Aviston infusions will start right away as well. I’ll go to Rush Oakpark hospital for those it’s in your veins sit there for a while infusion type thing like chemotherapy but not, I’ll keep everybody posted hey Incannotn wait to taper off the steroids. The new infusion will help with swelling so that I can. If the swelling goes down enough my brain that might be able to communicate better with my left leg and my mobility will improve as well let’s all hope this is the case.
